Essential oils in a pure, unadulterated form are natures raw medicine. The medicinal uses have been tried and tested for years. Over half of our over the counter and prescription drugs are made from or synthesized from plant constituents.

Plant Essence
Esentials oils are pure and potent natural plant extracts that come from high quality organic plants. The leaves, bark, peel or roots are usually distilled to extract the essential oil.
Every Plant carries a distinctive scent or essence with a unique chemical fingerprint that is matchless in every way. The chemical constituents that make up these highly fragrant therapeutic agents are a "gift from the earth" (Latin = dōTerra).
Many believe that these plant elements were intended to be used as natures remedy for issues of health and wellness. Over 60% of prescription drugs contain synthetic modifications or copies of natural compounds derived from botanicals.
For these plant extracts to be effective, the must be grown in the right place at the right time and in the right way. Pure essential oils will not contain additives, fillers or synthetics.
Why are dōTerra’s oils different?
dōTerra recognizes how important every step is to extract and bottle these pure oils. To assure us of the oils purity and potency, doTerra uses MS/GC testing for every batch of essential oil.
The testing is done by a third party, unassociated with the plant growers, distillers or dōTerra.. If the oils are confirmed pure, having the proper constituents and properties and the proper amounts, the oils are labeled CPTG (certified pure therapeutic grade).
This is the highest grade level possible in the essential oil industry. It far surpasses AFNOR, ISO and Grade A standards of quality.
